Cemher microcement texture options
From a smooth, understated surface to a more expressive, textured finish, Cemher microcement offers different ways to bring character to your space.
Your choice of texture influences how the surface feels, catches the light and reveals the movement of hand application. Explore Cemher Microne and Microrock with The Finish to find the right combination of colour, texture and material character for your project.
Cemher Microne Microcement
Cemher Microne offers a fine-grain aesthetic with subtle tonal variation. It is a good starting point if you’re drawn to a softer, more restrained concrete look.
The finished appearance depends on the top coat selected and how it is applied.
Choose a quieter surface to complement a minimal interior, or explore a more pronounced texture to bring greater depth to your material palette.
Microne vs Microrock: what’s the difference?
Cemher Microne and Microrock offer different visual and performance characteristics. Choosing the right microcement involves considering the texture you want, where it will be applied and how the surface will be used.
Cemher Microne
Microne offers a finer aesthetic with subtle tonal variation, making it a popular choice for understated interiors. Depending on the grade and application technique, it can create a smoother surface or a more pronounced, coarse texture.
Suitable applications include interior walls and bathrooms. Our standard Cemher colour samples are made using Microne.
Cemher Microrock
Microrock brings a more textured, cloudy appearance, with tonal movement that gives the surface a distinctive concrete-like character.
With a compressive strength of 80 MPa, Microrock is suited to high-traffic floors, commercial spaces and demanding applications where greater compressive strength is required.
Microrock can achieve different textures depending on the grade and application technique.
Does stronger microcement mean a rougher finish?
No. Strength and texture are different characteristics. Microrock’s higher compressive strength does not mean it must have a coarse finish. With both systems, the selected grade and the applicator’s technique influence the final texture.
Are Microne and Microrock waterproof?
Both systems are waterproof within the microcement material itself, and both require sealing as part of the completed installation.
For bathrooms, showers and other wet areas, the required waterproofing membrane and correct detailing at joints and junctions remain essential.
Which Cemher microcement should I choose?
Start with where the finish will be used, then explore your preferred colour and texture. Microne offers a finer aesthetic for interior spaces, while Microrock provides higher compressive strength for more demanding applications.
As both products are applied by hand, the finished appearance will reflect the selected product, colour, texture and applicator’s technique. We recommend approving a physical sample before installation.

Choosing your microcement texture
Texture and movement are different parts of the finished look. Texture describes the physical surface, while movement describes the tonal variation and markings created during application.
When discussing your finish with your applicator, consider:
Smoother textures: for a finer surface and a more restrained appearance.
Coarser textures: for a more noticeable grain and stronger material character.
Floated or patted effects: for additional surface variation, subject to the selected system and application.
An inspiration image is a useful starting point. A physical sample made by your applicator helps establish how that direction will translate to your project.
See your finish before you decide
Microcement is applied by hand, so every installation has its own character. Colour, texture, lighting and the applicator’s technique all contribute to the finished appearance.
We recommend approving a physical sample in your selected product, colour and texture before installation. View it alongside your other materials and, where possible, in the lighting of the intended space.
For floors, showers and other demanding applications, our team can also help confirm that your preferred finish suits the surface and its performance requirements.
