Microcement Exteriors in New Zealand

Microcement is redefining outdoors surfaces across New Zealand

Lightweight, versatile application

At just 2–3mm in thickness, microcement offers a high-performance finish without the weight or bulk of traditional systems. It can be applied over a range of properly prepared substrates, making it a flexible solution for both new builds and renovations.

Designed for New Zealand conditions

Engineered for performance, microcement systems are built to withstand New Zealand’s diverse climates. With UV stability, weather resistance and breathable layers, the system is designed to perform over time when correctly specified and applied, maintaining both appearance and integrity.

Durable finish with design flexibility

Microcement combines durability with creative freedom. Resistant to cracking, fading and everyday wear, it delivers a low-maintenance exterior solution that doesn’t compromise on design.

Microcement exteriors FAQs

  • Yes. Microcement can be used on exterior walls when the correct system is specified and installed. High-performance systems are designed to be weather-resistant, UV-stable and breathable, making them suitable for New Zealand’s coastal, alpine and urban environments.

  • Microcement is a highly durable finish when applied by trained professionals. It is resistant to cracking, fading and general wear, making it suitable for long-term exterior use across residential and commercial projects.

  • Microcement itself is flexible, but like all surface finishes, it relies on the stability of the substrate. When installed over properly prepared and stable surfaces, and with movement joints respected, the risk of cracking is minimised.

  • Microcement is typically applied at a total thickness of around 2–3mm. This makes it a lightweight solution compared to traditional exterior finishes, while still delivering a durable, high-performance surface.

  • Microcement should be installed by trained, certified applicators to ensure correct system build-up and long-term performance. The Finish provides a nationwide network of experienced professionals, along with specification and technical support.
